Nearly 450 miles of scenic trails provide the perfect setting for hiking, backpacking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Five lakes let you escape for an afternoon of fishing, canoeing or kayaking. If golf is your game, you can test your skill on Prescott’s six public golf courses.
Art, Culture & Education
Historic downtown Prescott is a hub of history, tradition, art and culture. Browse through boutiques and galleries, dine in one of the cafes or restaurants or join the festivities at one of Whiskey Row’s famous bars. Sharlot Hall, Phippen and Smoke Museum feature exhibits on Arizona’s territorial history and native cultures. And three universities call Prescott home – Prescott College, Yavapai Community College and the western campus of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.
Prescott is known as Arizona’s Christmas Town. Its annual Winter Christmas Parade and Courthouse lighting are a hit with locals and visitors alike. You can also enjoy a variety of art, music and cultural fairs including the Prescott Shakespeare Festival, the World’s Oldest Rodeo and Frontier Days.
